Carpet is the favourite spot for fleas inside a home. Eggs fall from pets as they move around, and the larvae burrow down into the pile where it is dark and they can feed on dust and flea dirt. The crew we book treats each carpeted room with extra attention on edges along walls, under beds, behind doors and below couches. These spots get less foot traffic and less vacuuming, so they hold more larvae. Rugs are treated on both sides where they can be lifted, and the floor beneath them is treated as well.

Vacuuming is a big part of getting carpets clear. Do a full vacuum just before the crew arrives, then keep going every day or two for a few weeks once the carpet is dry. Empty the vacuum into an outside bin each time. Try to keep treated carpet dry for about two weeks, apart from normal vacuuming, so the treatment stays in place.
Carpet flea treatment is usually booked together with an indoor spray of the hard floors and a yard treatment, but it can be done alone for units in Mount Gravatt.
